"At the request of Dr Vijay Kelkar, Chairman, Finance Commission, the National Innovation Foundation has been compiling booklets on grassroot innovations recognized by the Foundation in various States being visited by the Finance Commission. These books are handed over to the Chief Minister by Chairman during the visit of the Commission to various States. These are not based on an exhaustive list of ideas, innovations from each state or for each state but constitute only an illustrative sample of creativity at the grassroots in different parts of the country."
